When it Started?
I first started vlogging in May 2021, at the time I left the country and was stopped by Philippine immigration for two and a half hours, nearly missing my flight. I was questioned and intimidated by the officers, but I stood up for my rights and managed to leave the country. It was a challenging moment for me because I felt like I was being imprisoned by my own country and had no rights in doing what I wanted, even though I knew they were only acting in the course of protecting us.
My experience has been a source of inspiration for other Filipinas who have struggled with Philippine immigration. I learned as a shy camera person that what matters is the story you can share, not how you look. I still have a lot of work to do on my confidence, but I’m willing to share the progress and serve as an inspiration to all those who share my passion but are too shy to venture outside of their comfort zone.
